The quality of housing on the Castle Estate, 28% of whom are in fuel poverty at the last census, was identified as a contributing factor to Health, quality of life and people staying long term on the Castle Estate.
Cladding quickly came to the fore after a pilot a few years ago, by the Bolsover District Council who are cladding homes in Clowne currently, and the Affordable Warmth Coordinator advised the CERG of the current options.
The Green Deal
Our partnership with EON hit a stumble with the Government removing the Greendeal but it was always a long term project and they are keen to continue to help us tackle fuel poverty and poor quality housing on the Castle Estate.
Cladding is still the best recomendation and we are actively looking into future possibilities for the 339 homes of non standard construction on the Castle Estate
