Our Enviroment

It started with an impassioned plea by a member of the Castle Estate Residents Group to do something on the estate for people to take pride in.

“People used to que up to get on this estate, now they are queuing to get off.”

The Castle Estate Residents Group (CERG) in partnership with Town and District Councilors and with the support of the Old Town Council, Bolsover District Council, the Fidlers Rest and Bolsover Civic Society cleaned for the Queen on Sunday the 17th April 2016.

17 local volunteers collected 48 bags of rubbish off the Castle Estate to celebrate the Queens 90th birthday making a huge difference on the Castle Estate. The volunteers then attended a celebration at the hospitable Fidlers Rest to enjoy tea, coffee, juice and lots of thank you cakes ably prepared by Brenda and Trina.
